JOB PURPOSE
Provide leadership, coordination and management support in project planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring and reporting for the Education Cannot Wait, First Emergency Response (ECW-FER) Project in Gorom Refugee settlement, Urban Juba and provide implementation monitoring to Yei-Lasu ECW-FER project implemented by MASS.
Essential job duties/scope of work
- Supervise and appraise National/POC hired Teachers and counsellors under ECW-FER project, to ensure the efficient and effective running of ECW-FER project activities.
- Supervise and monitor the implementation of the ECW-FER project activities being implemented by MASS in Yei-Lasu, to be in line with UNICEF guidelines and ACROSS policies.
- Identify professional needs of ECW-FER project staff and provide the necessary technical support to address the identified needs.
- Coordinate the implementation, monitoring and reporting of the ECW-FER project activities being implemented at Gorom/Urban Juba and by MASS in Yei-Lasu, to be in line with UNICEF guidelines and ACROSS policies..
- Conduct regular monitoring, assessments/evaluations to identify gaps in the implementation of the ECW-FER project activities in Gorom, Urban Juba and Yei-Lasu.
- Develop, compile and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, mid-year and annual ECW FER project report inputs and ensure timely submission to Program Manager.
- Budget holder for procurement and financial requests in the ECW-FER project.
- Train the Parents Teacher Association (PTA) and the school Management Committee (SMC) on their roles and responsibilities in relations to ECW-FER project.
- Regularly monitor and check the ECW-FER project teaching staff’ discipline, ensuring compliance with the Teachers Professional Code of Conduct.
- Coordinate and follow up activities regarding ECW-FER project with the National Ministry of Education, State Ministry of Education and County&Payam Education Offices.
- Attend Education Sector/cluster Coordination Meetings at National/State level.
- Support control measures for the use of project resources/assets and uphold ACROSS policies and procedures.
- Any Other tasks assigned by Program manager/ACROSS Leadership Team.
Qualification and Experience
- Degree/ diploma in education from a recognized institution.
- 2-3 years of experience is required in the Education Sector.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written in English and Arabic
- Accuracy, attention to details and ability to detect inconstancies and inaccuracies.
- Extremely flexible and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations,
- Motivated to work in highly risky environment.
- Actively promote PSEA (prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse) standards within and among the beneficiaries served by across.
- Committed Christian with heart for the disadvantaged communities as the refugees
- Demonstrate integrity, excellence, stewardship and collaborative abilities.
- Ability to lead and facilitate and conduct devotions.
- Must knowledge of the local language of the area as an added advantage.
- Must be a born again Christian.
